Awake at Dawn continues our story back at camp where we left off. Kylie is being haunted by a bloody woman who tells her that she needs to help a friend or her friend will die but gives no more information than that and her romantic relationships continue to confuse her. Kylie also starts getting powers and wonders what type of creature she will be.
Awake at Dawn was not as good as the first book in the series but did answer questions that were left hanging at the end of the last book and the tone continued to be the same. I did feel that the story moved slowly however and I didn't find myself rushing to find out what would happen next. I would recommend this book for readers who enjoyed the first book but if readers were unsure about the first book I'd skip it.
Appropriateness: There are some heavy make out sessions and some discussions of sex between the characters. I would recommend this book to teens 14+ that enjoy paranormal romance.
