Insurgent

Insurgent by Veronica Roth is the second book in the Divergent series.  This book continues where the first left off in the aftermath of the war started by the Euridite leaders.  Trice having solved the mystery of what was going on with the simulations and why being a divergent makes her so dangerous now has to bring down the Eurdite leader who caused the war.

I've been unhappy with the second book in dystopian trilogies lately.  They all seem to consist of the heroine going on a journey and then ending up where she started.  I was happy to find that this book was different.  Roth allows the reader to see more of the society that she created while dealing with the war that has broken out.  I enjoyed the book and can't wait for the next installment in the series.

Appropriateness:  There is less adult content in this book than the first (no sex/drinking) although there is still a lot of graphic violence, depictions of war and torture.  I would recommend this book to readers 12+
