Scarlet in the Snow by Sophie Masson follows Natasha who finds herself at a mysterious house after running from wolves in the snow. She's immediately drawn to a beautiful rose and when she touches it the houses terrifying owner demands that she stay at the home. Natasha learns a lot as she works to help her family and save the one she loves.
This is a beautiful fairytale, a mix between the classic Beauty and the Beast tale and a fantasy story. The beautiful snowy setting makes for a dream like setting and Natasha is smart and resourceful when it comes to making sure that the ones she loves are protected. I enjoyed this book throughout and it was a beautiful twist on a classic fairytale with a strong female heroine who does the saving herself.
There is no adult content in this book. It felt like a book written for the older YA/adult crossover audience but is appropriate for younger audiences also. I recommend it for readers 13+
