Demon Chick

Demon Chick is a story of a girl whose mother sells her to the devil for political power. She finds this up when on her 16th birthdays she's picked up by a demon named Brad to live in hell. Hell is a dull suburban life with only lackluster food and the only entertainment is spying on the living above. While spying on her mother she realizes that her mother's plans are truly evil and she returns to try to save the world from her mom.

This is an entertaining fun teen read and will be a fun series if the author releases more in a series.  Her descriptions of hell were original and fantastic. I loved Demon Brad and hope to see more of him. While there is some romance it is not the focus of the story, Jessica is a girl that's more interested in saving the world than finding the right guy.

Appropriateness:  This book is appropriate for teen readers. The main character does have casual sex although there are no descriptions of the act, there is no glamorized drug or alcohol use. The main character is a lover of books and describes several classics in ways that would make a young reader want to read them.
