Stick Dog Wants a Hamburger by Tom Watson is a fun digital picture book that is FREE for kindle though amazon. This is a funny book about a group of dogs that make up a crazy plan to get a hamburger. The author speaks directly to the reader at times which adds to the humor of the story.
I enjoyed this so much that I not only read it myself but I made my daughter read it to me in the car. She giggled at the pictures (and the author telling her not to laugh at the pictures) and the crazy plans that these crazy dogs made up. Stick dog is a great role model to your kids, teaching them how to listen to others and make them feel included even if their ideas are crazy.
It's a great title to download onto your kindle or e-reader for you or your child to read when you're stuck someplace. It's not the easiest read (it's probably written at a third or fourth grade level) but it's engaging and funny. I would recommend it as a read aloud for young children and as a fun time waster for those that are older.
