This audio version of the wizard of oz is performed by the Colonial Radio Players with characters voiced by different actors. The story is different than one would expect if their only experience with the story was through the movie and it is edited for content and time and it runs for just under two hours.
My six year old daughter is an Oz fan and a lover of audio books so I knew this would be perfect for her to review. She reported that this edition sounded like a play. I asked her if the it would be worth $10 to have this edition over the free edition she listened to this summer and she said yes that it would be worth it because of the voices.
Appropriateness: This audio version changes the story a bit to make it less scary but it is still a scary story which I would not recommend to children that are prone to nightmares. My six year old loved the story and she thinks that her classmates would like it also putting my recommendation at 6+
